Campbell: City looks to alternatives to proposed traffic light

Published Tuesday June 28

By Jasmine Leyva, Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, jleyva@community-newspapers.com

The city of Campbell is going to first look at other ways to improve traffic and pedestrian safety before installing a traffic light at the intersection of Harriet and McCoy avenues near San Thomas Aquino Road.

At its June 21 meeting, the city council asked staff to find other traffic calming methods at the intersection not far from Westmont High School and Forest Hill Elementary School.

Something needs to be done in that intersection but it needs to be open to more public discussion and ideas because as proposed, it just will not function, stated McCoy Avenue resident Richard Unger.
